Scores are based on the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), previously known as the DJSI questionnaire. The CSA is a thorough evaluation of a company's management of material ESG issues. Though S&P Global analysts will rate all companies that choose not to respond to the CSA based on public reporting, very few companies are able to attain a high S&P Global ESG Score through disclosure only. Companies must provide detailed answers to a standardized set of ESG-related questions through the CSA.
