After a twenty-five-year career as an executive in the oil and gas business, Michael applies his management and business knowledge to the EnvironmentalSocial Governance (ESG) area. The fossil fuel industry has many challenges in delivering affordable energy to the world while at the same time protecting the environment from excessive carbon emissions. Michael formed ESG Advising LLC in 2021 to provide insight and services to clients who need to understand their opportunities from an application and an investment perspective.

Michael is the Founder and Managing Director of ESG Advising, LLC, where he provides strategic consultation and advice to global investors and companies on ESG opportunities and threats to preserve short- and long-term value. He is a value-driven leader passionate about Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) in energy-related fields and the implications of financing the transition to clean energy. With American, British, and Irish (EU) citizenship and having lived in different parts of the world, Michael has a unique global perspective and can communicate effectively across borders and cultures. Prior to this, Michael was President of Upstream Exploration LLC, where he managed a startup Oil & Gas business with a clean environmental and safety record. He led a team of 25 from initial stages through sale to NYSE listed company, growing EBITDA from $0.9M to $4.8M in 3 years, with a robust return on investment of 18%. Prior to this, he served as Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Board Member of RAAM Global Energy Co.'s subsidiary Century Exploration New Orleans, where he led a senior team in the exploration and production activities for growth and expansion. From his earlier experiences in Information Technology and Public Accounting, Michael leverages strong financial management and analytical skills, as well as the ability to apply technology to provide optimal solutions. He is a strong communicator, and versatile leader dedicated to driving value and innovation in the Energy industry.
