The SASB Taxonomy was designed for companies to report their ESG information that follows SASB Standards in a structured, machine-readable data format (i.e., XBRL) to the investor and analyst community and other users of companies’ non-financial information. The intent is for companies to ‘digitally tag’ ESG information within their current reporting format, which may include regulatory filings (e.g., Forms 10-K/Q with the US SEC, foreign equivalents, etc.), Corporate Social Responsibility reports, or other reporting channels.
